Shell Puget Sound Refinery employees gathered in the refinery's fire hall for a luncheon celebrating the third consecutive CEO award.

Refinery manager Tom Smith reminded everyone that it was each and every employee that participated in winning the award--it was a team effort.

Over 250 employees and guests participated in the luncheon, gift giving and award presentation.

Refinery Manager, Tom Smith, (with tongue-in cheek) encouraged the employees to win both the environmental and safety awards next year to help reduce corporate travel expenses.

CEO Rob Routs highlighted the achievement of the refinery's winning the Environmental Leadership Award in 2000, 2001 and, now, 2002.

Brian Rhodes and Tom Wise accepted the CEO Environmental Leadership Award from CEO Routs on behalf of all the Puget Sound  Refinery employees.

Tom Smith, Refinery Manager; Brian Rhodes, Environmental Engineer; Tom Wise, Operator and Rob Routs, CEO pose for one last trophy shot. For more information on this event and award, please read the press release posted on the Shell PSR website.

Winning the CEO Environmental Leadership Award was also representative of the high standards of each employee.

"Winning this award for three years running is a credit to the consistent, high quality effort on the part of each person at this plant and to the team work that goes on here. Our employees have committed themselves to the highest standard of environmental protection." Mark Koslicki, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.
